Our Origins

As the world changed in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so did our school dynamic and personal outlooks and as such we decided to rebrand as Ardú Academy of Irish Dance.

Ardú - meaning rise, and thus our logo - the phoenix rising with the elevation of music.

At Ardú Academy of Irish Dance, we are passionate about bringing our love of Irish Dancing to all our pupils.

Our Team

Alan and Nicola McCormack, a husband and wife duo, are natives of Co. Kildare where they have enjoyed successful careers as both dancers and teachers.

Since qualifying as dance teachers, under the umbrella of An Chomhdháil, they have taught dancers of all ages and levels from beginner right through to world championship standard in both solo and team dancing.

Our Goal

As qualified teachers with An Chomhdháil, we do our utmost to ensure that each child enjoys the many and varied aspects of Irish Dancing. Positive teaching methods are used to develop life skills such as self-confidence, discipline, concentration and listening skills, good sportsmanship and social interaction.

Our Service

Students at our school participate in a curriculum geared to both competitive and recreational dancing, including the option to participate in Grading Diploma Examinations yearly, with classes being offered in both solo and team dancing. Students are trained to develop strength and endurance with emphasis on technique, style and posture.

Our Mission

Ensure each and every child, from beginner to champion, reaches their potential while enjoying every moment of every lesson.

Our Values

Provide a warm, welcoming and fun environment where dancers feel safe and secure and part of our Ardú Dance family.

Our Solution

A blended learning solution where traditional dance classes are backed up by online resources in our Digital Dance Hub.

Our Assistants

At Ardú we believe in proactively encouraging our pupils to pursue their dance goals and provide the opportunity for our more experienced dancers to give back to those who are starting off on their own path in the world of Irish Dance.

It provides a wonderful mechanism to create that inter-connect between dancers of all levels, age and experience and helps to create that positive and welcoming family atmosphere we strive to build our school upon.
